ASHLEY GOEBEL

CSW

There are so many choices and options in life, sometimes you feel stuck just just thinking about them! "Young adulthood" is an exciting time but it can also be terrifying! You have a sense that what you choose today will have a lasting impact throughout your life. It's also time to figure out who you are beyond what your family, friends, religion or culture have told you that you SHOULD be. Navigating dating relationships, figuring out what to do for jobs and careers, trying to make decisions about your education: It's overwhelming! Add on top of that once you make a decision, you question yourself even more! You wonder if you are lovable enough to keep relationships, or will you be hurt and abandoned. Again. You wonder if the career path or school program you're working towards will really bring you success and happiness or will you "fail" and be back to square one. Deep down, you wonder- Am I ever going to be enough? Am I ever going to be happy? Do I even DESERVE to be happy? Am I smart, funny, beautiful ENOUGH?

'm here to tell you YES, to all those questions. You can have the life you want. You can know you're amazing. You can work through the challenges that come up along the way, and you can know your own worth through it all. Through cognitive restructuring processes, we work together to reverse those self-doubts, and make healthy decisions that you won't later regret. Working with me, you will learn to accept yourself in a way you never have been able to before. You'll learn to enjoy the journey of this time of your life while knowing you're not in this alone. I've got you!

KNOW YOUR THERAPIST

WHAT DID YOU GET YOUR DEGREE(S) IN AND WHERE FROM?

Graduated from Northern Arizona University in 2013 with a BS in Public Management. Graduated from Arizona State University in 2018 with Masters in Social Work.

SUMMARY OF PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

I worked with Child Protective Services in Arizona for 3 years. I then worked at a behavioral health clinic in doing intakes for clients. Since graduating with my masters I have been doing hospital social work and crisis work.

WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO BECOME A THERAPIST?

I love seeing the progress clients can make within their lives. Before doing therapy I had only been providing brief therapy and interventions and never knowing the outcome or progress that is made.

WHATS YOUR THERAPEUTIC APPROACH?

As a CBT and ACT therapist, I help you identify how unhelpful thoughts can be adapted and diffused. These powerful approaches have time and again proven themselves in the latest research to help people get unstuck from the thinking patterns, emotional pain and unhealthy behaviors that hold you back. I am with you every step of the way and we go at the speed you are most comfortable with. Expect hands on learning and home assignments you can take with you after sessions to make profound and lasting changes quickly and effectively. Let's get started!

WHAT KIND OF HOMEWORK OR ASSIGNMENTS DO YOU GIVE CLIENTS?

I give assignments based on the client. Therapy is centered around them. If they want to continue working on what we have addressed in therapy assignments would be centered around that.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST SESSION WITH YOU?

By being honest and open. The more information you are ready to share the better we can work together towards making the changes you desire.
