Mental health stigma at times can stop us from seeking treatment and creating a support system. Do you ever find yourself wishing that you could communicate your feelings, needs and wants to others in a healthy way? I believe that we are all worthy of respect and that we have the potential to achieve the goals that we set for ourselves.

Challenges in life are inevitable, however, having the knowledge of healthy coping skills that can be put into practice when facing future situations can help us to become resilient. My goal is to provide the support that you need to become the best version of yourself.

My approach is tailored to each client and their individual needs.  Each individual has a unique set of circumstances that require different therapeutic approaches. With every individual I will take a non-judgmental approach. The Therapeutic Approach I tend to use is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which challenges and changes unhelpful behaviors and cognitive distortions, improves emotional regulation, and assists with the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems.

I am from Cache Valley, born and raised. I graduated with my Bachelor of Social Work from Utah State University and then went back to Utah State to get my Masters of Social Work. To me, being a social worker/therapist is about sculpting myself into a valuable tool society cannot overlook; and when they take that double glance, not only am I going to be an empowering force to those who come from similar backgrounds, but leaving a mark on the pages of history as someone who left the world better than it was.

Life can be challenging when you feel uncomfortable in your own skin or unsafe in the world. Maybe you can't pinpoint why, or you have a sense of feeling unsettled that stops you from fully enjoying your life. Do you struggle with feeling comfortable in your body or find you are constantly on edge? Maybe you can’t get thoughts about the past out of your head or struggle to concentrate on simple tasks. Perhaps you avoid intimate relationships or constantly fear being left alone. If you have experienced a stressful or traumatic event and want help moving forward, I want you to know that you aren’t alone and there is help available. These experiences don't have to hold you back any longer.

Together, we will create a plan and implement new skills to move you forward. We will find your motivation to continue the journey, so you can fully enjoy the life you have and find peace and acceptance. I always use a collaborative, supportive approach. You will feel safe and comfortable in our work together.

Asking for help or admitting that you need help is one of the hardest things that a person can do.  It really shouldn’t be as hard as it is to tell someone that we are struggling.  If I can make it easier for you to talk about the things that are bothering you and keeping you from being the person that you want to be, that is my goal.  We all have strengths and weaknesses; sometimes we focus too much on those weaknesses and negatives.  Using a strengths based approach, together, we can focus on finding solutions to those things that are holding you back.  In the world we live in today, do you know who could benefit from therapy?  Everyone, everyone could benefit from therapy.  We live in a crazy, scary world.  Don’t let your fears, negative thoughts, depression, anxiety, or anything else get in your way.  Be brave.  Together we can do this.

Using a generalist approach, we will find what works best for you and your situation.  Pulling from CBT, DBT, mindfulness, solution focused, and many other approaches I am confident we can find a way to help you get back on track.  I have experience working with children, teens, as well as adults.

ASHLEY GEARY

LCSW

I enjoy working with you and coming up with solutions to build self-esteem and self-confidence. Having a solid base of who your are and what you stand for is really important to manage anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.  If you have the skills needed to be confident in yourself, you don't need to find validation from others to build you up.  I don't believe any person is 'broken' and many clients I have worked with quickly find solutions to rebuild their world from hurt and stress.

My main approach to therapy is to allow you to manage your own treatment.  I feel like I am here as a guide and can help work through stress, borderline personality disorder, women's issues, anxiety, depression, and many other facets of treatment; but I like to let the client remain in charge and seek out their own success rather than me giving it to them.

ASHLEY GOEBEL

There are so many choices and options in life, sometimes you feel stuck just just thinking about them! "Young adulthood" is an exciting time but it can also be terrifying! You have a sense that what you choose today will have a lasting impact throughout your life. It's also time to figure out who you are beyond what your family, friends, religion or culture have told you that you SHOULD be. You wonder if the career path or school program you're working towards will really bring you success and happiness or will you "fail" and be back to square one. Deep down, you wonder- Am I ever going to be enough? Am I ever going to be happy? Do I even DESERVE to be happy? Am I smart, funny, beautiful ENOUGH?

I'm here to tell you YES, to all those questions. Through cognitive restructuring processes, we work together to reverse those self-doubts, and make healthy decisions that you won't later regret. Working with me, you will learn to accept yourself in a way you never have been able to before. You'll learn to enjoy the journey of this time of your life while knowing you're not in this alone. I've got you!

I believe strongly in empowering my client. I affirm that all clients have power within themselves that is waiting to be accessed. I do not lend you power in therapy rather, I help you find your own power to accomplish your goals. I will be understanding and nonjudgmental throughout our sessions. I particularly enjoy working with adolescents and young adults. Together, we will help you find your inner peace and joy in life again. I utilize CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused, and TF-CBT techniques.

ALLYSE “ALLY” NELSON

Do these thoughts sound familiar? "I'm not enough" "Everything is too hard" "What if I fail?" "I don't matter". The first thing you need to know is that you are not alone in these thoughts. The second thing you need to know is that your brain is being rude. Not cool, brain.

My passion and purpose is to help people who struggle with anxiety (perfectionism, shame, self doubt, etc.) to develop healthy coping skills and new thought patterns so they can feel calm, confident, and capable. Maybe these old patterns served a purpose at one time, but the fact that you’re here today tells me that you don’t need them anymore! I want to empower you through self care, self compassion, and lots of self love to connect back to your worth.

You are the expert on you. My job is to help you tap into that expertise. I do this by offering skills from Mindfulness, CBT, REBT, and additional approaches based on your needs. If you come to therapy with a willingness to be vulnerable and an open mind, you will experience peace and healing. Maybe your brain will even start being cool to you? It’s obvious to me how incredibly capable you are. Throughout the process of this mental health work, I think you’ll come to a similar conclusion: You got this. But I’m here for the times that you need an extra reminder.
