Do these thoughts sound familiar? "I'm not enough" "Everything is too hard" "What if I fail?" "I don't matter". The first thing you need to know is that you are not alone in these thoughts. The second thing you need to know is that your brain is being rude. Not cool, brain. 


My passion and purpose is to help people who struggle with anxiety (perfectionism, shame, self doubt, etc.) to develop healthy coping skills and new thought patterns so they can feel calm, confident, and capable. Maybe these old patterns served a purpose at one time, but the fact that you’re here today tells me that you don’t need them anymore! I want to empower you through self care, self compassion, and lots of self love to connect back to your worth. 


You are the expert on you. My job is to help you tap into that expertise. I do this by offering skills from Mindfulness, CBT, REBT, and additional approaches based on your needs. If you come to therapy with a willingness to be vulnerable and an open mind, you will experience peace and healing. Maybe your brain will even start being cool to you? It’s obvious to me how incredibly capable you are. Throughout the process of this mental health work, I think you’ll come to a similar conclusion: You got this. But I’m here for the times that you need an extra reminder.

My name is Mandy Donavan and I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 17 years experience in the field of mental health. Therapy to me is just like renovating a home. Asking for help or admitting that you need help is one of the hardest things that a person can do.  It really shouldn’t be as hard as it is to tell someone that we are struggling.  If I can make it easier for you to talk about the things that are bothering you and keeping you from being the person that you want to be, that is my goal.  We all have strengths and weaknesses; sometimes we focus too much on those weaknesses and negatives.  Using a strengths based approach, together, we can focus on finding solutions to those things that are holding you back.  In the world we live in today, do you know who could benefit from therapy?  Everyone, everyone could benefit from therapy.  We live in a crazy, scary world.  Don’t let your fears, negative thoughts, depression, anxiety, or anything else get in your way.  Be brave.  Together we can do this.

Using a generalist approach, we will find what works best for you and your situation.  Pulling from CBT, DBT, mindfulness, solution focused, and many other approaches I am confident we can find a way to help you get back on track.  I have experience working with children, teens, as well as adults.

 I enjoy working with you and coming up with solutions to build self-esteem and self-confidence. Having a solid base of who your are and what you stand for is really important to manage anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.  If you have the skills needed to be confident in yourself, you don't need to find validation from others to build you up.  I don't believe any person is 'broken' and many clients I have worked with quickly find solutions to rebuild their world from hurt and stress.


My main approach to therapy is to allow you to manage your own treatment.  I feel like I am here as a guide and can help work through stress, borderline personality disorder, women's issues, anxiety, depression, and many other facets of treatment; but I like to let the client remain in charge and seek out their own success rather than me giving it to them.
