KNOW YOUR THERAPIST

WHAT DID YOU GET YOUR DEGREE(S) IN AND WHERE FROM?

I graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor in Social Work in 2021. I am currently getting my Master's in Social Work through Simmons University and will graduate in May of 2024.

SUMMARY OF PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

Much of my professional career has been spent working with teens and young adults as they travel through life's complicated issues.  I have spent the last few years working with individuals with eating disorders and supporting them in navigating the complexity of recovery.

WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO BECOME A THERAPIST?

I have always had a passion for connecting with and helping others. I love working with people and seeing them learn and create positive changes in their lives. There is nothing more rewarding than human connections and providing stepping stones for someone to heal. I feel lucky to be able to do something I am so passionate about!

WHATS YOUR THERAPEUTIC APPROACH?

My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from evidence-based techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, and dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT). I tailor the treatment approach to meet the unique needs and goals of each client, fostering a supportive and collaborative therapeutic relationship. I believe that every individual has the potential to create positive change in their lives, and am honored to walk alongside those individuals as they embark on this journey of growth and healing.

WHAT KIND OF HOMEWORK OR ASSIGNMENTS DO YOU GIVE CLIENTS?

I believe homework assignments are an integral part of therapy, as they help reinforce what we discuss in our sessions and promote your progress between our meetings. However, please know that any assignments I provide will always be tailored to your individual needs and preferences.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST SESSION WITH YOU?

Your preparation is about creating an environment where you can engage fully and get the most out of our time together. Come prepared to be honest and vulnerable and have an open mindset. I'm here to support you every step of the way, and your active involvement is crucial for our collaborative work to be effective. If you have any questions about how to prepare or what to expect, please don't hesitate to reach out before our session.
