Taybree Ballard

MSW-Intern

Change can be created with loving, empathetic, consistent care. I believe every individual is unique and deserves treatment that tailors to their specific needs. As a client-centered therapist, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where you can show up fully as yourself. My goal is to ensure you feel seen, heard, and respected. My role is to walk alongside you as you reconnect with your inner strength. Together, we can walk the path of healing and growth. My approach is rooted in trauma-informed care. I utilize modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy ( PCT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy ( DBT), and Motivational Interviewing ( MI). Starting therapy can feel intimidating. I acknowledge the courage it takes to start therapy. When you’re ready, I’m here.

SUMMARY OF PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

My clinical experience spans a wide range of populations. During my first year of grad school, I completed an internship at the Bear River Health Department. The clinic specialized in treating individuals struggling with substance abuse and legal charges. I have also worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (MA) and job coach. Over the course of my professional history I have worked with a variety of populations such as chronic pain management, foster care, adults with disabilities, geriatrics, and hospice.

WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO BECOME A THERAPIST?

Empathy has always been one of my biggest strengths. Some of the most meaningful experiences in my life have come from sitting with people during really hard times. My role was to simply be there, listen and hold space. Being a therapist allows me to support people as they explore some of the deeper, harder parts of being human. My love for humanity pushed me to seek a degree based on helping people. I genuinely love listening and connecting with people. I strongly believe that therapy can change lives. Being a therapist can create lasting change for my clients and generations to come.

WHAT KIND OF HOMEWORK OR ASSIGNMENTS DO YOU GIVE CLIENTS?

I view homework as the client implementing the skills and insights learned in therapy. Any “homework assignments” will be tailored to fit your needs and goals.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST SESSION WITH YOU?

There is no required preparation! It is helpful to come prepared to be vulnerable during the session. The first session is typically getting to know each other and discussing your goals.
