What's Your Story?

Updated: Mar 28

-KJ Uluave

Everyone has a story to tell. Unfortunately, there's not always someone to listen to it. I have always enjoyed listening to others' journeys and how it has helped to shape and mold them into who they are today.

Therapy is the ultimate storytelling platform. Here I listen to people’s stories without judgment. Your story is a compilation of your experiences, battles, events, as perceived by no one other than yourself.

Utilizing elements of Narrative therapy, together we are able to reauthor your life and challenge some of your views.

I especially enjoy helping clients to externalize what they identify as problems. This is vital

to maintaining a balance in our lives. Too often do we as humans over identify with things that are wrong. For example, a person experiencing symptoms of anxiety might say “I'm just an anxious person”. In my office we will separate anxiety from you as a person. Taking that

statement and turning into I am a person who frequently experiences symptoms of anxiety.

I like to think my story plays a big part in why I became a therapist. I have my own experiences that are full of lessons, mistakes, and triumphs. My ability to utilize my experience to relate to clients is essential to my practice. I do this while also recognizing that even though we may have a shared experience, only you experienced it in your specific way. I am excited to hear your stories as we walk together through your journey!

Are you ready for your story to be heard? Set up a FREE 30 minute consultation with any therapist on our staff or schedule an intake appointment to get treatment started.
